TEAM GB WIN 27 PARALYMPIC GOLD MEDALS IN BEIJING
DAY 5 and Team GB has collected a massive 56 Olympics medals so far, including 27 gold medals. David Roberts (top right) has won 3 Gold Medals in swimming - Men's 100m. Freestyle, 400m. Freestyle and 4 x 100 m. Relay with 3 other team mates.
The Equestrian Team had another great day with Lee Pearson winning his 3rd Gold Medal and the Rowers won 2 gold medals and a bronze medal. Helen Raynsford, aged 28 became the 1st Rowing Paralympic God Medallist in history, winning the Women's Single Scull 1000m. event with 12 seconds to spare.
Wheelchair bound Matt Skelhon from Peterborough won Gold Medal in Shooting and the British cyclists and swimmers continued win more medals. The swimmer have now won a total of 23 medals, including 7 gold medals, and the cyclists an amazing 12 gold medals, 6 winning two gold medals each.
What a pity that the British Press and TV News programmes are so obsessed with football that these brave Paralympians hardly merit any mention. This is why I choose to write my posts on the Olympics, and also because my readers enjoy them
